happy birthday nay! regards ko kang may.

today would have been my maternal grandmother's 89th birthday. she joined our creator (and her husband-our grandfather [or may, as we all call him]) last 2003. may joined our creator in 1982. i do not have a recollection of meeting my paternal grandparents, i am sure they are looking out for me too. rest in peace. i'm sure they are all having a blast up there.

interestingly, half of the things happening in my "story" are things that my mind played when i'm dreaming. the rest of it contains my nightmares, fears, phobias, fantasies and others.

I thought I’ll get over it after the wedding, but no, it still occupies my mind. Yes, I have hang-ups in my past that I need to settle now or else, I’ll go insane.

No. Nothing to do with past relationships (I am way over that), but rather, hang-ups of the things I wanted to do (that, in the first place, really made me a certified geek).

I need to get it out of my system (no particular order):
1. That long story. When I met Stephanie in 2003, I have been trying to write a story in such a long time. I have the plot all ready, and everyday, the plot kept getting more and more vivid in my mind. I need this out of my system, like right now! I picked it back-up up the other week and I was able to get some of it out of my system—and I felt better! Now I need to spend a few hours a week trying to finish that—probably over lunch if I don’t have school work to do. The other thing that made me think so much about this is that, who will be my critic? I really don’t want Stephanie to read it because of its main theme—it will give her nightmares.
2. The family website. Yes, I have been dying to have one since I learned HTML. Now, I just want to finish it, even if it means using Yahoo’s Templates – and thankfully, Ancestry’s tree provided a very strong reference structure that I can use.
3. Property Management – well, we’ll see.
4. Studio (not a hang-up, but it became one since we picked up photography) – we’ll see where this will take us.
5. draw hentai – can’t really understand why my drawing look like monsters.
6. That other long story. More like a fantasy story unlike the one mentioned in #1. This though, Stephanie will be the critic.

That’s not so bad right?

I am completely OVER the following though:
1. Build my own PC. Been there, done that. Will never build another PC again, will only upgrade (maybe, don't know).
2. Write adult-short stories. Done awhile ago. It’s gone from my system-but I will still write a few though, but I’ll live without it.
3. Draw Anime. Done. The anime I have drawn are all okay in my standards.

What sucks too is that, 3 of the 6 above are in my 101 things to do before I die.
Some other stuff in my 101 T2D:
- masters
- doctorate
- 7 kids (yeah, I know, this is up to the wife)
- grand tour Europe
- grand tour Philippines
- climb mt kitanglad
- climb mt apo
- drive from davao to cagayan province
- drive the autobahn from end to end

Dreamy? I know.

i don't know if i should shout for joy or be even saddened by this.

i am joyful that in one of those rare times, a photo i took was selected to be featured in an article written for deviantart along with a bunch of others who has also taken photos of the wildfires.

i am saddened that this is a painful reminder, that many californians are at risk of losing their homes to fires and many fire fighters are fighting bravely to save that. the fires raged on. and it is becoming worse every year.

no guts no glory 7/14/08 19:15 |

everyday, i tell myself that if i don't have any guts, i will never be able to try to reach glory ever. i tell this myself when i'm about to back-out of a shoot. i have to do it. i cannot be scared.

And my last song syndrome was?

Lying beside you,
Here in the dark,
Feeling your heart beat, with mine,
Softly you whisper,
You’re so sincere,
How could our love be so blind?
We sailed on together,
We drifted apart,
And here you are by my side,
So now I come to you,
With open arms,
Nothing to hide,
Believe what I say,
So here I am,
With open arms,
Hoping you’ll see,
What your love means to me,
Open arms

Yes, I turned the volume way up, closed my car windows, and “sing” at the top of my lungs. I would say I did a damn good job at hitting the notes (in my freaking dreams).

In other things:
For some reason, Project P seems to be really accelerated. We are fully scheduled for the weekend because of Project P’s learning portion. We do have something scheduled for Project P on Sunday, which will be our first time in tandem. The learning portion of Project P from last Saturday was really awesome. What’s more is that, we are allowed to use it as part of our own portfolio. I can’t wait. I’ll probably publish these sometime tomorrow or Wednesday. (See sample image below). That was a really unnerving session, but for the most part, everyone was cool about it knowing that we are practically newbies. I still need to practice fillers and flashes. I really hate to have clients with overly bright faces and really dark surroundings. I am going to buy a color card though—color balance, exposure balance, white balance, and exposure balance are all keys. Oh yeah, I still have to buy those wireless flash release hot-shoes. I saw a few cheaper Sigma flashes, particularly the EF-500. Compared to the SB-800 or the SB-600, EF-500 costs way less than the SB-800 (more than half cheaper). I really LOVE as well as really HATE the class the other day. Now I can’t see a photo without saying anything about the pose, lighting, angle, annoyances and others. Argghhhh.

Project H also seem to be coming along wonderfully. I am trying so hard for this to surely become good. I really do not want to rush this project since it is a decision that I do not ever want to regret. Besides, the pricing forcast doesn’t seem to be increasing any time soon, so it’s good. Will talk about it more when we get more details when we are close to closing the project. I myself checked a couple online, and I am keeping watch of those listings over the next few weeks.

Project S is halted right now. I am broke to be able to push through with it at this time. The school, however, has a free scheduled use of one of their rooms, so it is a very good substitute for the halted state of the project.

Project M seems to have a good forcast in the coming years. I have thought about this long and hard, and did not know how I could push through with this project. However, when the market dropped, it seems that now is a good time to start. I’ll probably use Project H along with this to be able to accomplish this project. Oh well, we’ll see how time wil work this out.

Earlier today, I made myself one of those cheap instant chow mein. Not realizing it was already spicy, I poured Tapatio into it. I ate it and it was too hot.. I paid no attention to that and just drank my iced green tea. I kept eating it as well as drinking the green tea. Next thing I knew, I was shivering like shit.. I feel a little better now though. The painful burping helped, as well as the numerous trips to the men’s room to relieve my bladder.

i was looking at interesting (read: porn) photos just a few minutes ago, and was not turned on.

instead:
1. just a little photoshop...
2. jeez, what happened to your light?
3. if she can just turn a little to the left...
4. take off the glasses damnit, or have the photographer shoot in ambient light
5. ur supposed to be slutty, what's with the freaking cheshire cat grin?
6. that scratch on the wall annoys me photoshop it.
7. at least don't over compress your jpegs, at least to the point that we don't see artefacts
8. too much flash
9. i know this photo is a porn photo, why is the aquarium in focus?
10. please erase that bright stuff in the back, it's annoying.
11. arms away from the body please
12. 3/4 please
13. need filler
14. this would have been nice at f/11
15. the exposure looks nice, but i can't see stubble--lighting is too much
16. halo effect is off
17. photoshop the eyebags
18. there's no balance in the photo
19. i know this was not an artsy photo about tragic lipstick on teeth
20. her pose is unnatural, looks like somebody working in a circus--only naked.
21. what's with the shy pose? it needs to be slutty or dead-ma look for it to have that erotic feel.
22. there's a white hair in your blonde head (come on, jap porn chicks has raven black bushes and you see the even coloring!)
23. macrophotography, when you are taking a photo really close to a butterfly, make sure you use lower aperture to get the entire focus (i'm not talking about the insect).

this is going to be a long week.

at least i think i know more about photography than years ago.
